Five working systems, in the order they tend to change a business most. Every one runs in your browser right now, on real logic, reacting to what you type. Type into them, break them, watch what they do.

01 EDI for everyone

The thing only the Fortune 500 could afford

Big companies do not email each other invoices. They exchange them machine to machine, and it is called EDI. It costs somewhere between a quarter and half a million dollars to put in, and it only works when the company on the other end has bought it too. That second condition is the reason it never reached anybody else. A system that can read a document does not need the other side to change anything at all, so a PDF, a scan and a photograph of a delivery note all arrive as the same structured record. Pick a document below and watch it happen.

  • Three formats that look nothing alike, one extractor
  • Per-field confidence, not one score for the page
  • A floor that refuses to post work it is not sure about
  • A journal entry that has to balance before it commits

In production Point it at the mailbox your invoices already arrive in. Anything clean posts itself and matches against the order. Anything doubtful waits for a person, which is the entire point.

02 AI assistant

An assistant that knows when to stop

Ask it about hours, pricing, or payment plans and it answers from a named source you could go and read. Ask it to book you in and it opens the real calendar and respects the real opening hours. Tell it your pet is unwell and it refuses, because that is the rule it was given, and you can watch the rule fire.

  • Every answer traceable to the document it came from
  • Booking that respects the actual opening hours
  • A guardrail you can trip on purpose and watch fire
Ninth & Pine Animal Health Answers in under a minute

Hi, this is the front desk for Ninth & Pine Animal Health, across all six locations. Ask me anything about the practice, or tell me what your pet needs and I will get you booked.

Guardrails

  • Never gives clinical advice
  • Never quotes surgical pricing
  • Hands to a human on any symptom

Fires on its own. Try telling it your pet is unwell.

In production The knowledge base becomes your documents and your price list. The calendar becomes your calendar. The escalation becomes a page to whoever is on call, with the transcript attached.

03 Internal tool

The spreadsheet, if it fought back

Drag a job across the board, or tap it to advance. Dispatching unassigned work hands it to the lightest-loaded crew that is actually qualified for it, and the day's numbers move as you go. This is what the spreadsheet was always trying to be.

  • Assignment logic that respects capacity and skill
  • Utilisation and exposure recalculated on every move
  • An SLA warning that clears itself when the urgent work is covered

In production The columns become your stages, the crews become your people, and it runs on your live job data instead of an invented Tuesday.

          04 Commerce

A store that does the arithmetic

Pick a bag, change the size, drop it in the cart. Stock is reserved as you go, the free-shipping threshold is real and tells you how far away you are, and tax is applied to the shipped subtotal rather than guessed at.

          • Variant pricing and per-variant stock, not one number per product
          • A threshold that tells you what it would take to clear it
          • A confirmation listing every operation the order triggered
          Fourth Street

In production Swap the invented catalog for yours and the checkout for your processor. The back office where you work the orders every morning is the other half of the build.

          05 Automation

Every enquiry handled the same way, at 3am

A form submission arrives and six things happen to it before anyone reads it. This one runs on whatever you type into it, so change the message and watch the sector, the score, the routing and the drafted reply all change with it.

          • Enrichment inferred from the message, not bought from a broker
          • Scoring you can read, with every point traced to a reason
          • A first reply written from the actual submission
          lead-pipeline idle
          1. Capture normalise
          2. Enrich domain · sector
          3. Score intent weight
          4. Route owner · sla
          5. Draft first reply
          6. Notify 3 systems

          Inbound submission

Edit any field. The result changes because the logic is real.

In production The same shape writes to your CRM, holds time on a calendar, and pushes an alert wherever your team already looks.

Yours would not look like any of these.

These five exist to show the range, not the product. The build starts with a conversation about what is actually breaking, and the shape comes out of that.
